No it's a web browser. But you can set it to use any number of search engines right in the address bar where you'd typically type in a web address.
If I type "g squid porn" it would search google for squid porn. If I typed "w squid porn" it would search for it on wikipedia.
Say I want baseball reference's profile on Wade Boggs. I'd just type "br wade boggs" and I'd get it. Basically, I can right click on any search field on any website, designate a letter (or combination of letters), and make it work right from the address bar.

That's pretty effing awesome. But, I gotta tell ya, it sounds a little beyond me. I think I'll stick with Chrome for the next ten years. Maybe by then I'll be redy to advance.
