I was always way too heart-on-sleeve for dating. Was super bad at it. How I managed to get an amazing woman to marry me is... well, it's just some kind of goddamn miracle.
how'd you meet her?
Met in college. We both did theater. We were friends for over a year before we started "dating." Finally got cast in a show together and things sort of took off. We were exclusive within a couple weeks. Engaged 8 months later. Probably would have gotten engaged sooner, but we spent 3 months apart that summer. I lived in Massachusetts. Oddly enough, she got a job working on a show in KC, and didn't have anywhere to stay, so she lived with my parents.
She lived with your parents in KC while you were in Massachusetts? That's hysterical!

So I've been going out with someone that I met a couple of weeks ago and I like her enough to think things could go someplace interesting. I also have it from good source that she really likes me. But we've been out four times now, (dinner/drinks a couple of times and to see a movie a couple of times) and not a single time has she even attempted to pay. I mean, she hasn't even acted like she was reaching for her purse. Should I be worried or am I just being a cheap dick by even thinking about this?
Dear Cheap:
No you should NOT be worried.
You're the guy.
You get to stand when you pee, you will never have a period, carry a baby, or breastfeed. You're buying.
so much for women's equality
I tried to suppress those things, but it didn't work.
I thought the "guy buying" was one of the few advantages of being female

Same boat. I would be dead in a ditch (D.R.I. reference?) without my wife.
I started dating this guy. ...but he's already expressed to me how much he likes me that i don't think I like him so much anymore. I should say he's over-expressed it. Like "ok, buddy, enough"
Is this what wearing your heart on your sleeve is?
I always thought that expressing one's feelings was a good thing, but I suppose over done is a problem.....which is a shame, really.
