Alright, this is what I get for being a lazy bastard and not coming up with back-up plans. I've got the next week off from work, my first real vacation in almost 3 years and me and my girl were all set to head to the beach on Monday. Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to send one of her bitch daughters Ophelia down for next week and now any prospects of heading to the beach on the East Coast do not seem like such a good idea. We didn't have reservations, so at least there's no money lost.

So what I need now is another getaway spot for next week. I'm open to all suggestions you might have, since I don't have a better idea at this point. The only requirements are that I have to be able to drive, I'm in central WV and would rather the trip not be any longer than 8 hrs or so one way. The basic idea with the beach was just to relax, soak up the sun and make sweet love down by the fire all week. Anything that would be conducive to these activites would be excellent. I'm not sure that I'll get any good ideas this way, but fuck it, what do I have to lose?

Just lodging or total? Nothing too elaborate for my broke ass, a grand would be ideal.

I wish I could be of help, but sadly I do not know much about good vacation spots.

Awesome idea!

Had the opportunity to head down there for a month to work, didn't take it. Sorry.

Hard to beat a nice log cabin in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge (Tenn.)

Or maybe even Cherokee (NC). That way you could go gambling!
