I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my ankle, and i was wondering on a scale of, say, 1 to 10 (1 is being pinched and 10 is having your legs waxed) how painful is it???

It feels like someone is dragging a sharp needle just underneath your skin, just barely deep enough to draw blood.
It doesn't hurt, it's more irritating than anything.

The bony areas are more ouchy, yeah. Just have a shot or two before you go. It's not like you're being stabbed thousands of times by a miniature needle or anything.

i have one on the inside of my ankle and it wasnt even close to hurting. it was annoying, but thats all.
everyones threshold for pain is very different. we can tell you its going to hurt sooo bad or that it wont hurt at all, but in the end it doesnt matter what we say because everyones experiences are different.
i have 9 tattoos. (sat for 11 or 12 though since i added/chanegd certain ones) and the most painful spots were: the one on the back of my neck, the two tiny stars right above my buttcrack, and the handle of my gun which is kinda on my tummy/hip, and my wings which are on my upper back.

I got my first one on my ankle, and having your legs waxed is bloody torture. I would say it's a 6 max. Make sure you really want one, cause they are very addicting!
