Tuborg is great stuff. Drank quite a bit of it when I was in Denmark. I'll still buy a sixer of it once in awhile here at home too. It's available all over the place here in Canada, not sure why you can't get it in the US.

Belgian beer is great as well.

carslberg is good, but tuborg much better
i would go to carslberg brewery every 2 weeks when i lived in copenhagen
sam adams summer or winter ales are awesome. other good american beers are: sweet water (atlanta beer), sierra nevada, bklyn lager, red hook (specially ipa) and my latest IPA discovery - smatty nose (or smth like that)
