Depends on where in Canada your going then. I saw it from 1.13 to 1.29 a liter (Winnipeg & T- Bay). Its not quite as bad as it sounds, because of the exchange rate.

gas is more expensive in Canada because it is taxed more. Theres a hidden tax, then the general sales tax taxes the whole shabang, so your getting tax on tax with gas :(
so the higher gas goes, the higher the GST on it as well, when you see the pump price all that stuff is included in that final price.
from my experience on the west coast, the gas in the US is usually about 20 cents a litre cheaper after exchange and what not, so if i'm road tripping to seattle or something, I make sure i top it up before i come back home.

It sounds like it's a bit more than in the US.
Try buying gas in Europe; it'll make the US look dirt cheap. It's about 3 times as much as gasoline is in the US. You can easily pay $100 to fill an empty tank.
