I was asked out on a date to the local rib place for dinner... so I wanted to ask him to pick me up, you know, because I dont have a car and its like 10 miles from town. I feel like an ass calling back to ask him to pick me up. Id like to keep my appointment with him but the ride thing and I feel embarressed that I dont have a car. Ummmmm.... its reseaonable request isnt it or even... does it sound old fashioned?

This is true. And if someone offers you a date, surely he wouldn't mind collecting you. If he did, why ask you out in the first place? And don't be embarrassed about not having a car-you're 'environmentally friendly!'

How did you interpret it? I would have thought it obvious, Chris. Seeing the question was re: getting picked up in a car. I've turned it over, and simply cannot see how it could be interpreted any differently!

lol... I thought it was funny... sounds like a date from Silence of the Lambs... anyway... Eco-friendly I am, but this is America and there are 10 cars for every person...thats the thing that keeps me from dates... a VEHICLE! Something people have a hard time understanding.

we generally don't say "collecting" you here. That's why Kosmic said it reminded her of Silence of the Lambs. Kind of like he's got a collection of chicks in the basement or something.
