Anyone here have an ipod? I'm considering getting one and wanted some feedback. Is it worth the money? I have some information on how to get a free one (saw a clip on CNN), so I might check that out too. PM me if you want this info about the free one. Rock on.

I bought a 40 gig Ipod a month or so ago..i had the hardest time getting it "ready" to put my music on. For some reason, I didn't really install the software the right way...and calling tech support was useless. Although, there IS a website which has a forum, not unlike this one, where people post problems that they're having, and people help each other out. After I found that out, my problem was solved (very easily might I add). Since then, I have been able to transfer all of my CDs...over 600...onto my 40 gig Ipod. My CDs are now safe, in my room, at all times, as my Ipod goes with me wherever I go...easily hooking up to the tape deck in my car...allowing me to listen to any song/album that I own. Its endless amounts of music, and the battery lasts for about 12 hours before having to be recharged (which is a simple process as well). I highly recommend making the investment...Once i got it up and running, I haven't looked back

For christmas I got an 250g external hard drive. I have since moved all of my music onto that but left my itunes on my actual hard drive. As long as I have my external plugged in, i have no problem playing music on my computer or syncing my ipod.
Now, how can i load a cd directly onto my hard drive? Right now it imports them into itunes on my laptop hard drive, which defeats the purpose.
Also, when I download something, the winrar file goes onto my hard drive and I have to move it to the external hard drive. is there a way I can have it automatically go to the external hard drive?
