I went to Michigan State for 3.5 years. Fucked around too much so my parents said they weren't paying for my tuition anymore. I thought my 2.1 GPA was good enough to hang in there but they had enough of my bullshit and i had to go back home. I started working on a casino boat as a dealer, making decent money but not nearly enough to move out and have a life. my parents told me that if i went back to college they would pay for it and buy me a new car when i graduated. 2 years later i graduated and they bought me a 94' Camaro as a gift. It wasn't brand new but i loved that car. Fast foward to 7 years to today....
My wife crashed the car and although it isn't totaled the damage is about $2,500 which is about what the car is worth right now. It's just past the 100,00 mile mark and is in good condition but spending that much money to fix it seems pointless. I didn't even want to go back to college(and never did anything with my diploma) but i always loved the car. Now it's probably dead. I'm not sure what to do. Might be time to get a different vehicle, tough to put the old woman down though

That cracked me up. I am a bit bitter cause i'm the snottiest driver on the Island. I deliver flowers 40 hours a week and haven't been in an accident in about 7 years, haven't gotten a ticket in even more(i got 2 seat belt tickets a couple years ago but no traffic violations). So at first i was really pissed at her for being so careless. I've calmed down a bit and not so pissed anymore but it's gonna sting for awhile.

were the roach clips, the garter belt that hung from the rearview mirror and the reo speedwagon iron-on patch on your jean jacket damaged in the wreck?

never owned a roach clip, definitely no garter belt, and never had a jean jacket and hate REO Speedwagon. I'm the complete opposite of most people who own a Camaro. I did blast Hall and Oates a lot if that makes you feel better

It seems the best thing to do would be to hold it over her whenever she gets critical of you for something.
Or, just use it as something to make fun of her about years down the road...
Actually, this is probably bad advice.

it's Ok man. I did take the T-tops off during the summer and had empty bud cans all over the place. There's probably a couple of missing bowls somewhere in it too.

I actually clicked on this thread just to see how many posts it took to get a mullet mention---while the camaro cut was not specifically mentioned, this one counts, and I was suprised to see it took 6 responses! Its great to see that you seem to be taking the Camaro jokes very well.
It is odd the attachment and affection we develop for our cars. I had a 25th anniversary edition Mustang GT--actually had a dream about it a few nights ago--I still love to hear the rumble of muscle car exhaust, takes me back for a second or two, and makes me hate my 4 door.
Glad to hear your wife is OK.
