... to offer you a job / phone interview? 'Cause that's what they're asking me to do at my job.
I work for an International Recruiting agency, we do staffing and headhunting for other companies in many countries. I myself am in charge of working the American companies. Being in Argentina, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. But we're expected to still headhunt and call people up.
So how pissed off/receptive would you be if you picked up the phone on Turkey day to be greeted with "Hi! I represent (x company). I came across your resume and think you would be a great fit for one of your jobs. Do you have a moment to chat?"

I don't think you would experience any hostility whatsoever. Like the cutup said, ppl that need the job, won't mind.

What if you HAD a job, and were offered a better one? I work on the IT field. IT guys are dicks. And antisocial. And maybe overweight, so they might not appreciate being distracted from their turducken.

Can you get me an IT job?
I wanna be an antisocial bitch, who owns everyone's systems., pocket protector included. Got root?
IT guys aren't dicks. There's just a language barrier with the lesser life forms, that's all.

I would assume that you would piss someone off just on the off chance that they are the type of person to do so. why test your luck? some people do not want to be bothered at all when they spend time with their family
