I'm 25, and I've been in college for seven years now. For a good portion of this time I raised a lot of hell, and at some points turned into a drunk lunatic...never violent or anything like that, just making a fool out of myself. Most of it was fun, and I have some funny stories. But lately I don't care about getting shit faced...but I still like going out.
I started realizing that I'm blowing money, getting drunk and trying to get laid and every time it ends up the same. I come back home with my friends and I'm more broke than before. And I'm also thinking "yeah I'm drunk, but was it really that fun?" I wake up the next morning feeling like dog shit, and sometimes embarrassed for the stupid things I said/done.
So, I'm currently at a point where it seems like it will be more fun to go out and only have a couple of beers instead of 20.

hah- I don't know you at all but that's hillarious.
don't hate.
Rocky, I kind of know what you're talking about. You gotta mix it up and go to diferent places.
I prefaced though
I mean no harm dude- This kind of feeling just happens as you grow up- you're not 18-19-20 whatever anymore- you're not "old" but you're not a kid anymore, did you expect to be entertained by mindless stuff for the rest of your life?
I'd look at this experience as a good thing, but that's me. I'm old. *shrugs*
I was just kidding around before- it was just a funny line.

It's fine. That line makes me sound like a knock-off version of Van Wilder. But yeah, I figure it is just a part of getting older. But my friend who is also 25, he likes to still go out and get fucked up a few times a week. I believe he does it to cover up some emotional issues and whatnot. who knows
If I might say..... at your age, I can't believe you haven't yet learned the fine art of having older women buy your drinks FOR you. That way, if you go out and get hammered and laid, it's not on your dime.

well, there's always the possibility that some people ARE entertained mindless shit for their entire lives.
Nothing wrong with chillin with your friends and having drinks. Not that Rocky was saying this is the extent of his nightlife, but spending time with folks you care about is never mindless shit.

Everybody is making sense. I think I'm on the same page as you mowbs. I still like to go out and bullshit with my friends, it's just I'm tired of getting totally slammed in the process.

I used to live for Friday and Saturday nights out at the bar/club, up until I was about 27 or so, and then it started to just get old and repetitive. Now I'm 29, and it's still cool to go out with the guys and get shitfaced once in a while, but that's it -- just once in a while. At this point, I'm practically engaged and prefer chill nights where we go have a few beers somewhere local and call it a night. My friends and I simply don't fit in anymore at the club (not sure most of us ever did....), and I no longer have the desire to go.

At 25 I was at the height of my "going out to get drunk and laid" decadence, so I'm of no help here. I wouldn't worry, though; eventually something will tell you it's time to start slowing it down. If it's merely your own reliable self telling you so, well, you're getting off lucky.

I've been finding myself feeling the same way more and more over the last year or two. I'd rather just have a couple beer with friends and not feel like a fucking bag of dirt the next day. I've wasted too many of my days hungover. I have too many better things to do with my life that sitting on the couch eating junk food and feeling like crap, trying to work up the stomach to do it again that evening. Not that i don't still enjoy getting a good jag on, but now i choose my battles a little more wisely. Also, i have better things to spend my money on.
