The Academy Is... really deserved to be promoted a lot more than they are. One of the best new bands out there. The last album kicked ass.

the amount of prep-time that goes into these haircuts is staggering.

I went to the Taste of Chaos tour last year to see the Deftones, and there were a bunch of screamo and metalcore bands playing beforehand (Thrice, Thursday, As I Lay Dying, and a bunch of others). Anyways there was a huge lineup for the men's bathroom, the likes of which i'd never seen before. Then i realized that a few of the normal looking dudes were skipping the lineup and going right in and then coming back out shortly after - the requisite amount of time needed for a healthy piss. It was then that i found out that the line up was for the douchebags checking their animehair and guyliner.

I've heard/seen this before. Thursday is pretty solid though.

..and to think, if they invested the time spent tweaking their image on jamming clam, they'd probably be a lot better.

I figured. Soma, what music do you listen to anyway? I don't really feel like going to other bands to figure this out.

Edith Piaf
Faith No More
Radiohead
Primus
Mastodon
Gogol Bordello

Of the ones you listed I'm not actually in possession of any of their music except for Radiohead.

What can I say? I really need to get some music.

He had his moments of complete gash, but overall he knows too much to be considered a hipster. Hipsters are incapable of original thought as far as I can tell.
