are there some words you can just never really pronounce the "g" for in everyday language?

Yeah, I pretty much always say fuckin. But I do the emphasis thing like you from time to time, usually when another curse word is involed. For example:

"This thread is a fuckin' joke."

vs.

"You are a fucking asshole!"
