So who else is working today, especially if your job is outside of retail? Not only that but I have to stay the full day "in case we get busy". Nevermind that my clients' offices are closed.

I'm "working". But I'm also lying in bed if that's any indication of how hard I'm going to work.

Basically I want to save my vacation day for a real vacation next year. :P

my company is working today but I asked for the day off...it definitely is a dumb day to be at work - i can't imagine who would be busy outside of retail

Me, I worked. A half day, paid for a full day, on triple time. And the same on Thursday, Friday and next Monday. Plus I get a day holiday in lieu with each day I work. I love European working laws. 8)

Sounds great for the employee. Sounds like a nightmare for the small business owner.

Ahhh, stout. You should try Murphy's. Is kilkenny stout? :?

I have today off, but I'm working tomorrow. At least on the actual holiday we get holiday pay.. not so much for Christmas Eve. I also worked on my birthday two days ago, and apparently I'm the only one who recognizes that as a holiday. :D

It's actually an Ale. I've had Murphy's before though, good stuff. I'd have one of those instead, but someone left a Kilkenny in my fridge, so...

I work for a Bank and I'm at work today--the biggest crock of shit is that people that work in the branches close at 2...i dunno when I'm getting out but it will be later than that....and I'll be here again New Year's Eve. :haha: :haha: :haha: Ya, laugh at us!

i was supposed to be working until 3 pm today, but at the last moment, my bosses had a change of heart and said we could all have the day off.

however, they're making someone (not me) check the phone lines from home all day. that's gotta suck.

I was the only one in my area for most of the day; still here for about one more hour. I did get one actual call from a real client but it could have waited until Wednesday. Other than that lots of spare time today.

Worked for two hours (from home), goofed off the rest of the day (even went to a movie). Get paid for eight hours.
