So my girlfriend and I have been having some issues lately. She feels that Ive been ignoring her and making her an afterthought. I..don't really know what I feel and dont know where I stand. Anyway, we were on the phone tonight and somehow we got to the point where we decided to talk in the morning and stop for the night because we werent getting anywhere. Anyway she says something to the effect of:
"I just want you to know that I do love you."
It's the first time she's used the L word. I uh...didn't say it back. Instead I said that I cared about her a lot and wanted to get through this.
I think I fucked up, but I didn't feel ready.
And this is my most emo post ever.

you have to have sex before you can have makeup sex, right Mickey?

Yeah.
Well, if you're not ready to say the "WORD" it's perfectly natural, that's a big step, but you could still do something to show her that you "LOVE" her. make her some dinner, breakfast, something to keep her mind away from the chicken pox.
Action of Love is better than just saying the word LOVE.

George: "Sienna, I love you."
Sienna: "I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat."

Elaine: "You've never said I love you?"
George: "Once, to a dog. He licked himself and left the room."
Jerry: "Well, so it wasn't a total loss."

you know, mickey, if you're unsure of how you feel, it's better that you didn't say it back. not saying it and hurting her feelings a little bit is better than saying it, discovering that you didn't mean it, and hurting her far worse.
if she questions you about it, tell her that it caught you off guard, and that you didn't feel ready to say it back. just be honest about it, and everything should turn out alright.

Yeah. That sounds like good advice. She just seemed so upset after that, and god, she was upset to begin with.
This is not fun. Especially with her leaving for a two week trip to England on Tuesday.
