Is it better to live somewhere it snows or not?
poll plz? also it would be awesome if you would specify whether you live in a place where it snows or not. that way the options would be. 1) Want snow. Live somewhere it doesn't snow. 2) Do not want snow. Live somewhere it doesn't snow. 3) Want snow. Live somewhere it snows. 4) Do not want snow. Live somewhere it snows.

i live somewhere where it snows.
if i could move somewhere where it doesn't snow, i'd do it in an instant.
i think i'd miss the snow a little bit, especially around christmas time, but really, once you get past the "oooh, pretty!" factor, snow is annoying. i don't like shoveling my driveway (evidence of this is the fact that it kind of resembles a glacier). i don't like waking up in the morning, seeing that it snowed, and realising that, before i get to go to work, i get to dig my car out. i don't like clearing my car off before i can go anywhere. i don't like driving in it. i don't like walking in it. i don't like crashing my car in to banks of it.
where i live, it snows just enough to be very annoying, but not so much that you can really do anything with it. it'll snow six inches at a time, which makes a mess of everything for a few days. and once the roads are cleared up, maybe it'll snow another two inches, just to screw up the roads again. and maybe, we'll get lucky and it'll warm up and melt most of it away, only to have the temperature plummet and everything turn into a sheet of ice.
at least when i lived in new york, it would always dump, like, three feet of snow all at once, screw everything up, and then be basicallly done until the spring, when everything melted and flooded the rivers and made a giant mess again. but, shit! feet of snow is at least nicer because you can do things. oh, the snow forts i built as a kid.
so, uh, in short, no snow.

Snow is fine, its the cold when it isn't snowing that I can't tolerate

I love snow for skiing and the aesthetics of it but driving in it and all the above mentioned annoyances suck! luckily (sorry GD) it hasnt snowed much here only rain (and not the mixed or frozen variety either) but it also dumped early in the season up north and it was amazing but now even as far north as stowe, vt. they're getting rain and shat too so id be ok with another round even down here so long as the ski areas got hit hard or harder too

i've lived where it snows maybe once a year, where it never snows at all, and where it snows at least once a week. having been where it snows once a week during winter for about 3 years now, I can say, after being in California where its warm etc, I much prefer not to have to fight the cold and snow. It's more than novelty, the snow, it's enjoyable, and makes you appreciate a lot of things. It's fun to play in, fun to try to throw frisbees in, building snowman, and I'd definitely think everyone should live in it for a little while just for the experience, but at the end of the day, I'm looking forward to leaving here and hope the occassion will be this summer. if I could live somewhere where it'd snow perhaps twice during the winter-- good snows that stuck around long enough to be enjoyed but then melt, i'd take that.

I don't mind the snow that much... when I have to shovel, I just bring my iPod and it makes it a little more fun. Just crank up some heavy shit and get to work.
