Where do you like to fish? I typically end up more towards Rochester, or up by Point Breeze. But I have been known to go towards Buffalo way and get down as far as Barcelona.

Particularly small mouth bass. You would probably enjoy fishing for smallmouth bass in the Genesee Mecca.

I live by Point Breeze and go fishing on the lake all the time. There are a lot of great places to fish near my house, so I dont have to travel too far. I have the Cattaraugus, 18 mile, the big sister all within a 10 minute drive. In fact, a tributary of the little sister flows right behind my house

Maybe our paths have crossed.

Point Breeze is about as far west as I go in that neck of the woods. I'm not familiar with Niagara County at all. If the fish aren't bighting I'll go from Point Breeze, to Sandy Creek, to Hamlin Beach, to Russel Station. I used to fish a real lot at Point Breeze and Sandy Creek. The Steelhead will be bighting soon. Maybe I'll see you up there.

This is a spinoff thread, Doug. I prefer deep sea fishing myself.

Yeah, I don't really know Niagara County at all. I mostly stick to local streams these days, but back in the day I used to go with my dad out to mansfield and beaver meadows.

I used to fish the local small streams a lot. The Oatka creek used to be great for all kinds of stuff from trout to pike. My buddy and I fished the Tonowanda religiously up in around Varysburg. We used to hit the East Koy and the Wis Coy too if you are familiar with those. But that's prolly a little south for you.

But...after those big floods in 99', all the small stream fishing just went to complete garbage. It really screwed up the ecosystems and all that was left was crappy stocker fish. All the nice old browns were gone. Even the pike are gone from the Oatka. It's sad. But hey, I haven't fished the small streams in about four years now, so maybe I'll give it a go this year again.

I actually fell into the Wis Coy a few times as a kid
