There really isn't any reason to do this. Is there? Really?

It's as if you've done something more interesting than start a thread on RM. Or, you're implying you've done something more interesting, than start a thread. Or, God forbid, post, care-free. Willy-nilly.

And you made a thread about it. Since, you've done it. And no-one else has.

But, they have. Always.

I dunno.

I'm in a bit of a quandry over this post...
I agree with you, yet I like to start conversations with 'so' sometimes just because it's a nice little device for immediately establishing a level of casual intent in whatever I'm talking about.

Of course, I also happen to be a good conversationalist anyway. *shrugs*

really though, they can't help it if they have no culture. They was just raised wrong. poor little urchins.

So, you like it. So, I think it sucks. It's a device for starting a convo with someone you don't know, or care about. It's too easy.

Whenever you're in company, and you don't know what to say, would you start the convo by saying "so"?

I wouldn't. I like to think people have more brains than that.
Plus the southern Irish have a habit of ending each sentence, "so".
