So, I am 31, married, happy and very busy with work. That's pretty much my life.

I am interested in reconnecting with old college and high school pals. Many of my friends have facebook pages and have been suggesting that I create one. It's a quick and easy way to stay connected; rather than phone calls.

Here are some thoughts: a. facebook may affect my job and possibility to land another job?; b. there's that line of thought out there about not putting too much personal stuff about you on the internet; c. my wife has a page, so no big deal, right?; d. it's the wave of the future...get on board; e. stay off the grid! what's to gain?

Thoughts, suggestions? Anything good or bad about creating a facebook page?

it seems most of my friends just talk and argue about sports, so I couldn't see myself posting anything political or any kind of porno stuff. thx

you shouldn't have any problems with your job as long as you aren't like the guy who called out sick a few days in a row yet posted on his facebook that he was "soooooooooo wasted last night" and there was "no fucking way (he) was going into work today".

his boss was one of his facebook friends

I only add friends and Pearl Jam fans. That way I can still complain about work on Facebook if I want to.

groetjes,
Mirella :)

No, unless you post the message on your mutual friend page.

I know of hiring managers who google names when considering a person for a job. and I don't mean a job at burger king; I'm talking senior managment to middle management positions that pay high five figures to even six. SinceI am approaching that level, I am a little worried....about facebook

well like has been said, you can set it for friends only. and im sure you would be responsible enough not to post anything incriminating anyway
