so i was driving home from work, and after a while it was just me and this other car on some back roads. the car in front of me was literally all over the place. it was like if a chimp was driving. the guy was never in the lane for more than a second or two before swerving or going off the road completely. and this was approaching my town when i know and actually like a few people.
so i called it in. ive never done that before. but if there were other cars around, it would have only been a matter of minutes before he seriously fucked someone else up (or himself). he stopped at a 711 once we got back to something regarding civilization and got out. he stumbled around outside for a few minutes and eventually asked some stoner kids out front for directions to I95. even they were appalled at his level of inebriation. from their conversation, i gathered that he was heading for a well populated area and would be there within 10 minutes or so based on the speed he had been going. called it in, hope they got him. asshole.
i get that some people are going to drive drunk. i was a bouncer at a local bar for a while, ive seen it and its not pretty. but this was unlike anything ive ever seen. if the guy didnt already go off the road and break his neck, i hope they got him.

I've um..done it before. Never a really long distance; every time was within a mile of my house, and I was never that bad. Still though, nothing I want to ever do again.

exactly, and there's a big line between having a couple and being a little drunk and not being able to stay in the lines. If some one is going to knock a few beers back, that's fine, but at least be able to have your motor skills intact.

Is that really how you spell the past tense version of "narc?" I can't think of any other way, but it looks like it should be pronounced "narsed." Hmmm.

ive drove drunk before...many moons ago. I dont think ive ever been swerving off the road though.
i dont drink much anymore...i only drink with friends and even then...not too much. i forbid myself to drive drunk these days...its just too much too risk when you add up life, lives, family, career, etc.
you may have saved some lives that night.

my mom is a bit perturbed at me because my cousin got a dui and totaled his car in a wreck (thank god it was a solo wreck and noone was else was involved) hes probably a good 10 years younger than me so the only time i have seen him drink is at family holidays/gatherings.
but i have heard him say how drunk he has been before and drove home, and i have had friends tell me how drunk he was.
anyway, my mom is pissed cause i actually had the audacity to say what a douchebag he is for driving drunk and potentially hurting someone. she said, well he feels bad for it and has learned his lesson, when i said, fine, good, did he learn his lesson the other times he has done it

so, basically, don't get too drunk, just get drunk enough where your driving skills are impaired only maybe halfway.
