i really liked nate's decision to incorporate an image into his response. sometimes pictures are more profound than words.

plus, he wants to be an actor. and he drinks good beer.

Immediately thought of the US, too many examples not too. USSR, Afghanistan, Iraq...we pretty much do this over and over and over again.

agreed.

and evidently, px concurs with nate regarding his sentiment. by posting this

[/thread]

she indicates her pleasure with his reponse and implies that no other subsequent responses could usurp nate's post in terms of accuracy and brevity.

Lysander is upset with something and px tells him he posted that response in the wrong thread. Lysander is displeased with px's post and intends to unleash an internet-fueled stream of invective in t-minus 10......

Nate's response was perfect.
I wish I still had the link I had to an article on the global economy and how countries become trade partners out of necessity and not so much out of goodwill. "Frenemies" was the term that was used to describe this phenomenon.

"Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer."

I think about the cold war, and how cut off from communication the US was with the Soviet Union. What do you all think? Is it better to accept your enemy as this "frenemy" type, or better to completely ignore them?

PeopleMyAge posts a picture of Al Pacino as Michael Corleone, presumably indicating this character exhibits traits relating to the topic at hand
