And when we first see the adult Nala, she is hunting down Pumbaa. Soon after, the Can You Feel the Love Tonight squence beings. However, as we all know (read: I"m making this up) the lionness does not hunt when she is fertile and looking for a mate. So she couldn't have gotten pregnant.

Now, just because we see a son in the future after Simba reclaims the Pridelands, does not mean sex occurred at said scene. I think it is more likely that Simba and Nala mated after Simba defeated Scar (admit it ladies, that kind of turned you on) and it was like a celebratory sex. Especially since we have no idea how far ahead in time the last scene is, we cannot determine when they knocked boots, but I think the creators leave ample evidence disproving the original theory.

they may have gone at it then, but maybe she just didnt get preggers at the time. like you pointed out, that last scene could be like a year down the road. after all, the land was all shitty and BAM! all of a sudden the pridelands are green and healthy again. i would guess that there was plenty of time in between for rolls in the hay. during that time, kiara was conceived.
