such as the jammer thread that was here yesterday...do we still get credit for the posts we made as far as post counts go? or is the thread not really deleted, just in the "mod forum"? or, how does it work?

The posts get deleted, I'm pretty sure. I think when Mickey (or maybe it was someone else) originally reached 10k posts or some significant number, a mod went back and deleted one of his big threads and he was back around 9800 or something like that. This was back when mods other than pd liked to associate with us.
