I am working on mine. I will not know if it's worth it for a few years or so, methinks.

what the eff, you're not helping my master plan of being an uber academic with a tweed jacket and elbow patches discussing the events of 1453 and their resulting impact on european eastward expansion with random guys also wearing elbow patches and perhaps the odd moustache or two.

Surely anything that develops your analytical skills will be useful career wise and priceless for life.

You're hardly going to get the chance to indulge an academic interest in that kind of depth once you have a family to support and a mortgage to pay off.

I'm toying with a masters in law and asking myself the same questions. I think the real question is what will I regret more 20 years from now. Doing it or not doing it?

Having a masters and not utilizing it (per say) will always be better than deciding to not put in the effort to do it. It's an achievement whether you use it or not.
