I bought tickets to see Metallica there in October but didn't purchase a parking pass yet. I thought $20 was a bit high. Has anyone been to a show at JPJ and is there any other parking options that might be cheaper, even if a mile or so away?

I agree with you but that is were Metallica is playing!! A really odd choice. I wish there were coming to DC again. JPJ arena looks small

Wow. You can't go anywhere in Philly without paying $20 for parking. You're spoiled. LOL

How far did you have to walk?

Downtown parking is more reasonable, although it is not an easy walk (maybe 2 miles) but the university usually runs a trolley. In fact, the last time I used the parking garage it was free if you have a receipt from a downtown restaurant. Otherwise, I'm not sure there is much else near the arena.

Not far at all. Maybe 10 minutes.

At fenway if you're early enough to drive around for a while and look for a spot, you can go over to the back bay and park on newbury or boylston street in the blocks around the Prudential Center. There's a lot of competition so you need time to drive around and look. Once you park you walk up Boylston, cross Mass ave, take the next right and walk a block or two down the road and you're at the back end of the ballpark by Jillians and the old WBCN studios.
