It's a decent view. I'm also very intrigued by "the god of the gaps" theory, so we'll see what comes of it.

haha..ok, here's something funny that just popped into my head. It's a paradox. Generally the more one would dig, the wider the gap would become, no?
But the beauty here is, the more we dig, the smaller the gaps become, and the closer to God we get. In short, God gets smaller and we get bigger. But no matter what? The closer we get, we'll still never touch God.
At least that's the way I would reason it.

Maybe we are digging holes into the garden of theism, not knowledge, with each discovery.

In that case, the gaps would be the places between the holes. Places that are filled with dirt, or rather, "god". The seeds that go in the holes would represent knowledge.
