Alright, there's only three posts but it seems pretty stereotypical at the mo. The only one that sounds like he enjoys cooking, is the European.
Couldn't be further from the truth. I enjoy cooking, it's one of the most rewarding yet simple things you can do.
I'm glad to hear it. Maybe it's the older generation? I feel sorry for people like my mum that hates cooking but still has to whip up a meal while her partner just sits around watching and waiting.
god, there's one guy I know that can't even boil an egg. When his wife has to leave early for work, the kids simply don't get any breakfast. I think that's terrible!

General rule in our house is, I cook and five minutes later my boyfriend 'spices' it up. And when I say 'spices it up'. I mean he changes it entirely.
We sit down for a meal and five minutes later he disappears into the kitchen and I can hear the cooker being put back on. 'WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN THERE?' 'I'M JUST GETTING SOME SALT' 'YOU'RE NOT RE-COOKING ARE YOU?'

I just noticed that apart from my boyfriend, most men I know let the women do it all the time.
I wouldn't know what to do if someone else did the cooking all the time. My Mom cooked very little. She cooked the same things over and over. My dad never really cooked either. My grandmother (mom's side) did a lot of cooking though. So I think I picked it up from her, as I spent a lot of time with her.
When I visit my folks, they usually feel like Emeril Lagasse has come for a stay. Because I drag mom or dad to the grocery store and say, you guys need this and this and that and that. Last summer, my dad would ask what I was making for dinner, and if I needed anything from the store while he was out and about. I told him I needed a George Foreman grill, and that I should have packed mine in my luggage because they didn't have one.
He just shook his head, but he brought one back!
My dad's idea of cooking is making a sandwich.

I hate cooking, that's why I married a woman who can cook. I only make breakfast... cereal and toast. Oddly, my dad cooks more often than my mom and is a much better cook.
