Christmas spent in the ICU with my sick 2-month-old. Surprisingly uplifting experience. With lots of decent human beings volunteering their X-mas day with sick children. Should be home by the weekend.

It really frightens me how fragile life is at that age.

As a guy who also has a 2-month old, my thoughts are with you. I hope you're all home and well soon.

I'm disappointed in my wider family. Mrs Harmless spent months knitting some pretty fine clothes for their gifts. Not a peep from them all day, not even a phonecall to wish us a happy Christmas. Reasons cited for us not being with them this Christmas: my parents have just moved house. There's not enough room for all of us, con kids. And the house isn't wheelchair accessible. You'd think that if they wanted us there, they could've asked me to bring crutches.

Ah well, I guess I'll just get smashed off my face again tonight :peace:

That's classic family politics at work. To play devils advocate, perhaps they thought it's your first Christmas as a married couple and you'd want to spend it together?

If she doesn't want the gloves I'll take them. They're excellent.

best wished t2b

and reasons like this are why i tend not to bitch too much about life. there is always someone who has it worse than you and makes your problems fairly petty.

to say i have had a bummer of a holiday stretch this past month would be an understatement. Spent thanksgiving at one aunts so I spent xmas with the other. its like they are divorced parents and if i show one more attention than the other I will hurt their feelings, when all i really want to do is be left alone and not hear every three second, oh your mom loved this or your mom loved that or she would have laughed about this.

i appreciate what they are trying to do and i understand it, but i just have never been an overly emotional kind of guy. i tend to keep things very close to the vest and not let folks in on what i am thinking emotionally.

I was going to go to the Bells Brewery and drink all evening in Kalamazoo. On my way out to my car I slipped on some Ice, twisted me knee and am now couch bound.

I was using Amazon to track the delivery of the Christmas presents I bought for my sister and her husband. The latest update says "Delivered. On front door." But neither of them are home right now. Is it really USPS policy to plop a package down on the front door and leave it unattended if there's no one home? How is that a good idea?

I keep refreshing the page expecting another update to say "STOLEN. From front door."
