I'll attempt a serious thread here in GD. I've been thinking lately about going off the grid for a while and seeing how long I can go. Not just avoiding internet use, but deleting accounts such as FB, email, etc. so I cannot be sent messages for later reading. Also, while I thought about no phone whatsoever, I might just limit my phone to talk only, drop the text/web from it as well. Also no TV, just music I already have in my iPod.

Not sure I will do it, but have thought about it. I think I talked with thodoks about this once. Does anyone else think they could do it?

Real talk: I wouldn't know what to do with myself if you went off the grid.

You will have to take over my Fantasy Baseball team.

I'd just trade your best players to my team.

Or just take over my first place team and say it's yours. Rename it to "Ichi-chuddo"

It'd be more satisfying to come from behind with my own team and watch your first place team fall from grace.

I don't think he's going to do it at all.

I made the thread because I just have been thinking about what it might be like, and to see if anyone else has done this.

Who needs news? It's all bad news anyway.

And no, I'm not going all Alexander Supertramp or anything like that.

I could never do it. I take breaks from RM off and on, but the internet as a whole? Nah. FB, sure, no problem. Internet is too much of a form of entertainment: news, netflix, other random sites, shopping, etc. Phone/text. I use it for every day means - keeping in touch with friends, family, work. It simply wouldn't happen.

A few years ago? Sure. Today? Impossible. We're more technology driven than ever.
