or having some form of physical contact with your hand and someone else's skin? usually i don't, but occasionally i get this weird sensation (not exactly a pleasant one) when this happens, and i can't get the feeling of their skin off mine.
anyway, this just happened and i made a thread about it

Off-topic but I find greeting Americans extremely awkward. No handshake, no kiss. You just stand there and acknowledge each other. It's weird.
I always shake hands. I met some people from Cameroon once and they all kissed me, I was a little thrown off. Especially since we had just met them on the street after my sister noticed them speaking french.

I remember a teacher at the english school I went in Canada explaining that northen americans had a thing called "personal space" or some shit like that, so the hive minded asian and southern americans could understand that americanadians don't like people glued in each other.

That ain't really dirty!
The only time I felt my person space invaded was when the girl put her tongue in one of my nostrils. But it didn't feel that bad, just weird.
Now that was dirty.

I don't feel strange after shaking someone's hand, but I hate weak handshakes. Having said that, I hate the macho bone crushing ones, too. My mum, as an employer, always interprets a good solid handshake positively, and I guess I've grown up believing that from her. I don't know if any quantitative research is possible on solid handshake = solid human being would be possible, especially without a definition of 'solid!' Limp handshakes give me the willies, though.
