In this thread, I take you on a guided tour of the Mickey account through the lens of Sigmund Freud's five stages of psycho-sexual development. The purpose of this thread is to explain the motivations and behaviors of the Mickey account via the language and postulates of the study of the human libidinal impulse.
Early Mickey / Oral: This era was characterized by a lack of identity and situational reactions. The id, in this stage, kept tight hold on the Mickey account's actions. The ego and superego had not yet developed (no literary references, attacks on spirituality, rap-related absurdities, or overt sexual references/yearnings).
Developmental Mickey / Anal: This era found the Mickey account in a formative stage in which opinions began to solidify. Preferences, such as love of literature and of music, took shape. Yearnings, mostly sexual and emotional, were expressed, but not acted upon.
Mid-Era Mickey / Phallic: The aforementioned yearnings took shape. Directly expressed sexual desires took place. Opinions changed rapidly into dogma. The ego and superego had decisively asserted themselves, bringing about a fully-formed personality equipped with specific needs and desires and the language with which to elucidate them.
Late-Era Mickey / Latency: A period of unfulfillment accompanied by the aforementioned desires took place.
Current Mickey / Genital: The Mickey account engaged in confirmed reproductive activity and begun to craft a literary summation of the account's experience with a sexual partner and with the Red Mosquito Forum at large, achieving full activation of sexual and intellectual capability. Having achieved these ends, a shift in priorities occured, manifesting as a prolonged hiatus from internet engagement. A brief return has occurred, but likely finds the Mickey account mired in impotence and unsatisfactory relationships.

And really, anytime you say something like "you can't judge art," you make yourself sound like a huge tool. It's that kind of egalitarianism that really defines who has anything worthwhile to say about art and who doesn't, because if you can't separate an Eliot poem from a high school diary, you really shouldn't be talking about poetry at all. Same goes for music, same goes for visual art, same goes for cinematography. The objective elements are what allow the emotion to take body in the work of art. You can't appreciate a good scene in a movie if it isn't shot in an artistic manner, and you can't really feel the emotion in a poem if the poet writes about time going "at a snail's pace." And I take this personally as well. I'm trying to be a writer. I'm working very hard at trying to be a writer, and for you to come in here and imply that there's no objective level on which I can improve my writing and that nothing separates me from people who aren't studying poetry and who aren't writing poetry and who aren't making a concerted effort to find their own voices and to write in an authentic and fresh manner? That basically discredits the entirety of what I'm trying to do. Fuck you.

God in like 6th grade I was actually lame enough to give a girl a note like that. Wrote pretty much that same line on a piece of notebook paper, including a big "yes" and "no" asking her to circle one, then stuffed into one of the slits of her locker. Got it back with the "no" circled and the word "no" written about 8 more times, too. Look where that got her. Don't say no to me, ladies. That's the message here, Parch. With tactics like this it's not hard to see how it was I didn't get laid til I was 29, eh?
