Next year, I'm going to do a whole trip to the West Coast of the US and of course not forgetting to visit my beloved Canada with Vancouver. I'm planning to do LA, San Francisco, Vegas, Rocky Mountains, Seattle, Vancouver.

San Francisco is known for 2 things: the Golden Gate Bridge and homsexual men running around rampant wearing assless chaps. You've been warned.
oh man, in college my pal and i started making some of some frat dudes one night. we started asking them how san francisco is, being persistent with that question. it nearly turned into a brawl, pal. really messy. do you have any stories like that?

Skip LA and check out San Diego instead, it's a much better city. See LA if you really have to, but it sucks compared to just about every other city in California.

Any comments on what I should see and what not?
I did something similar last summer. I flew into Vegas, spent a couple days there, went into Southern Utah/Northern Arizona and saw Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, and the northern rim of the Grand Canyon. Then we went up to Lake Tahoe for a week. The we went to San Fran for a few days, then drove south to Riverside where I have family, then went to Yuma Arizona (on the border of arizona/mexico/cali) where I have more family, went into Mexico for a day, then went back to Vegas for a couple days before coming home. Good times indeed. Saw a Giants game in San Fran.

I like the idea of driving the coast. From San Diego, up to Vancouver

When I was in high school my family drove it from San Francisco up to the Olympic Peninsula. Definitely worth it. I still haven't seen the coast from LA to SF, though.

I think you should forget all that and come and get drunk with me in Toronto instead.

when in LA, i'd reccommend going to roscoe's chicken and waffles... they serve waffles and fried chicken together... its suprising good. go surfing in malibu too... depends what you're into in LA, i like the getty museum a lot... the sunset strip is a good place to go if you're into hollywood sleeze... but as far as cool places to be at night, if its not at the beach, i'm a big fan of the neighborhood i moved to called silver lake, good music scene, good bars, and its not the everyday tourist spot.
there's tons of places to eat i can direct you to in LA, Korean BBQ is also something that should be had... coffee shop 101 has an amazing ice cream sundae where they take brownie mix, put it in a waffle iron, and they serve a ton of ice cream on top of a giant brownie waffle

Personally if I was from Europe I'd want to check out New York and Toronto first
I've been in Toronto in 2005 guys. Let's not forget that. I'm not a guy who likes to go twice to the same place. I want to see as much of this world as possible.
I like the idea of driving the entire West Coast. But I really want to see some Rocky stuff. My first idea was Vancouver -> Denver, and then get to New York for a couple of days from there before flying back.
Also, I've got two very good friends - gorgeous looking girls - who are very willing to go with me. This could get tricky.

Look, I really appreciate the idea, but you know, I'm from Belgium a.k.a. Waffle Country.
