Thanks. Has anyone had good/bad experiences with a refurbished product from Apple?
Also, I am looking for an i-Pod dock that you can hook up to your home entertainment system...one that plugs in to A) Charge the ipod, B) connect sound to your stereo, and C) connect video to your TV so you can see your ipod screen up on your bigscreen TV.
I know they exist but so far the only one I've found online is at Radio Shack and says it requires batteries. That's BS...it should plug into the wall, too. Oh yeah, and I want one with a remote control...maybe that was what the batteries were for (the remote). I'll have to check again but if anyone has a similar product can you send a link or a name? Thanks.

I'm guessing most of the refurb products from apple are mostly for replaced batteries or maybe a hardware replacement. They didn't really start introducing moving parts into the iPods until the more recent iPod classics.

Yeah, once Apple upgrades a product, the discount the manufacturing of the older generation, that's pretty standard.
I have a good friend who swears by Apple's refurbished stuff. He got his macbook air and other products that way. Shrug. I would imagine it's as good as new, especially for something like an ipod.

Apple refurbished is pretty good. I bought a MacBook Pro, but it was a lemon...after 4 visits to the "genius" bar, they said fuck it and gave me a new model. So, mixed results...the refurbished product I bought sucked, but I got a brand new one because of it.
For the docking station, I have a Bose right now, and would not recommend it. It is way too bassy. I turn my ipod to bass reducer, and it's still too much. I'm really hoping one day to have a mid-self (or slightly above) receiver where I can adjust my own bass/mid/treble, and get good speakers while I'm at it.
