Is it useful?

Should this thread be in N&D?

Anger he smiles, towering in shiny metallic purple armour
Queen Jealousy, envy waits behind him
Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground

Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted,
They quietly understand
Once happy turquoise armies lay opposite ready,
But wonder why the fight is on

But they're all bold as love, yes, they're all bold as love
Yeah, they're all bold as love
Just ask the axis

My red is so confident that he flashes trophies of war and
ribbons of euphoria
Orange is young, full of daring,
But very unsteady for the first go round
My yellow in this case is not so mellow
In fact I'm trying to say it's frigthened like me
And all these emotions of mine keep holding me from, eh,
Giving my life to a rainbow like you
But, I'm eh , yeah, I'm bold as love
Yeah, yeah
Well I'm bold, bold as love (hear me talking, girl)
I'm bold as love
Just ask the axis (he knows everything)
Yeah, yeah, yeah

it's something i've been thinking about for awhile. what purpose does getting angry serve?

there is an idea of equality and/or justice instilled into humans. Anger is what comes about when something happens that goes against those ideas

i think there are better ways of going about this than getting angry, though. like trying to understand where the other person is coming from, and if necessary, passive resistance

passive resistance comes from anger. Anger does not mean violent. Everyone gets angry. Somebody steals your parking spot at work, you get angry. Somebody tracks oil through your office and ruins your rug, you get angry.

yeah. maybe a better word to use would have been violence, though maybe not. i think it's possible to overcome the emotion of anger and simply... let others make their mistakes and not let it get to you.

i'm doing a very poor job of expressing this. i need to think about it some more, maybe read some gandhi.

i am a believer that the answer is best found within oneself. Why try to be gandhi? Find it within yourself and it is much more rewarding because you will be your own person

trying to void yourself of emotion isnt the way to go about that. Dont deny being human. What matters is how you deal with anger or how you dont express it towards others.

it's not about trying to be void of emotion, but you make a great point about not expressing it towards others. that's essentially what i'm getting at, how you interact with others.

i think it's possible to ... for lack of a better word, become enlightened enough to not show anger.

i believe that expressing anger towards others begats more anger. Understanding is key, but there are some things that are unforgiveable. Say you had a boyfriend and your best friend steals him from you. I would say that you could express anger towards that person because that is a very shitty thing to do. If it were me in that position, i would probably get angry at that person and stop associating with them

Choose
The single clenched fist lifted and ready,
Or the open hand held out and waiting.
Choose:
For we meet by one or the other.
