I run quite a bit.

Best 5K is 18:36

Best 10K is 40:07

Best 15K is 62:15

Best half-marathon is 1:40:34

Usually I run between 16-21 miles per week. Don't really do any other kinds of excercise.

damn, nice 5k time. do you recall your training regimen for that race? did you do any particular speedwork exercises?

The only thing I do to increase speed is run a short distance (1 or 2 miles) and focus on a faster pace. I did 2 miles in 11:48 the other day.

do you have any strong feelings about canine pepper spray?

I used to run a lot, cross country in high school, a marathon four years ago. Weaning myself off cigarettes and establishing a demanding-though-not-exhausting running routine is my goal for the spring.

My best 5k was 17:10. Mile was around 5:08. I'm wasted over short distances. The longer, generally, the better.

i get concerned about running too much and dealing with bad knees and hips in the future. i run 4 miles (~32 min) twice a week and three miles (~24 min) twice a week.

your concern for your knees and hips is as warranted as strippers fearing attention.

my old man ran 4-5 miles a day 4-5 times a week and has two new hips based on the running he did. i had knee surgery in 93 and there are days that both knees bother the shit out of me...and i'm 33. i think the concern is valid

i like to kinda lean back and then bring my feet up- kinda like crunches. i'll do 20 and then i'll do the same motion with a twist to hit the obliques.
