...use the word 'shopping', but not the word 'shop'?

Technically, they should call it 'storing', but then they'd have no word to apply to actual storing. They'd get home from a day's hard storing and then pack all their storing away for um... um... yeah.

We use the word shop as a noun synonymous with store, just not very often.

Yeah, I thought you must use shop sometimes, I mean, especially to avoid the kind of mess I've just described.
