I've never met her before. But she keeps sending my kids birthday and christmas presents. The gifts are getting bigger and more expensive each time. It seems really odd to me.

Never met the woman>sending cards>sending money>sending presents>more expensive presents>and then finally wanting to meet me on christmas eve while I was looking after my other half's grandma. (That was odd because my mum's only met grandma once herself).

Perhaps she lost a child, but still, you would think that she could learn to take a step back?

A lost child that apparently has money to burn? I'd set up a meet soon.

I'll meet up with her because she's probably a really nice woman. I don't think she's planning on abducting my kids. It does seem a little strange to me.
I would like to point out that she only works with my mum (my mum drives her into work) but they're not friends outside of work.

I'm don't mean to sound ungrateful, but it seems bizarre to me. Does she do this for anyone that has kids or grandchildren that she might have a loose connection with?

Actually, it is making me slightly uncomfortable. Probably because she's buying more expensive presents than we can afford. :-p

Saying that, the kids do really well @ christmas, from us and from the rest of the family. So it's not like the woman is taking pity on us.

I was really hoping this was gonna be about your mum's friend who is newly single and needs a young American guy to help her relax. Oh well...

Good Night Laura
Don't you know your bed awaits and now it's time for sleeping
Goodnight Laura, close your eyes
Your worries are meant to stop for now
You know they're not for keeping
If you want to fall asleep, be very still
And you close your eyes and slow yourself and let your worry leave you
And let go of it all just for this evening
Alright
Alright
Alright

You can fall asleep by being very still
And let your breath slow down
And when you think your thoughts be sure that they are sweet ones
Don't you know, love, you're alright
You're alright
You're alright
