My family and I have always been under the impression that we are Irish with a little bit of Scottish. My aunt just finished doing a bunch of ancestry history stuff online, and it turns out that while we are basically what we thought, our peeps were in Canada for like 200+ years before they came to Boston. Does that make me more Canadian than Irish? Am I a Canadian? I've been rooting against them in sports all my life, and making fun of them from time to time also. This whole thing is just mind blowing.

200 years is a long time, Canadian. My family lived in Cuba for about 100 years between Spain and the US, and we don't call ourselves Spanish.

My family on my dad's side lived in Jamaica for quite a few generations but I only call myself Jamaican when I want to be a douchebag.
