So my wife tries hard to christmas shoppe, but i think she gets too excited when she thinks she finds a deal, or a hard to find item and doesn't pay attention to the details.

A couple years back, when i first started buying some vinyl, I had mentioned needing Vitalogy and No Code. So A couple of weeks pass, and she comes to me one evening and says.. "I think i messed up my christmas shopping" as she hands me, Used copies of Vitalogy, No Code and Yield.

On Compact Disc.

This year, she informs me to not snoop around anything that comes in the mail. I will not, as i passed the "open my presents early" phase when i was 12. Id much rather be surprised now a days. Anyways, I go get the mail the other day to discover a small box. I bring it in along with the other mail and place it on the kitchen counter. She comes home, goes through the mail, and i see her across the house getting visibly angry. She heads over to the computer and says "goddamn it. Not again". She again thought she ordered me a record... but got a CD instead.


Also this year, we decided to get our daughter a doll house. She ducked out of work the other day to pick it up before the mad holiday rush.

well, that was racist.

I got an African American dollhouse for Christmas one year, too. I wanted a dollhouse so bad, I didn't care. My mom got it because it was the only one left. I was happy and played with it.

i went to 3 toys r us' and finally exchanged it for the proper one.

Did you not exchange at the first two because the employee at the customer service desk was black?

No. Those two did not have the white one.

Well, we've learned that through this thread a white family and a hispanic family would buy a black dollhouse *shrugs*

Some would, some wouldn't. But let me be clear, she didn't buy the black one because it was the last one. She bought it because she didn't realize. If i couldn't have found the white one, she would have gotten the black one.


We then would have found just the dolls seperately and the black family would then be the "field hand" and "Ms. Mammy"
