a girl asked me out on a date. That had never happened to me before, or at least not since junior high. I recently started a new job as a clerk at the city library and this girl is a temp who comes in on some weekends. I had met her the previous week and, in retrospect, had made myself seem thoroughly unappealing. When she asked me if I was an aspiring librarian, I told her that I wasn't an aspiring anything, lol. She told me a little about library school and then at the end of the day I got into my mother's car and drove home. So when she asked me on a date the next week I was really taken off guard. I sort of stuttered and said something like 'I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say this, but I do have a girlfriend.' She said, 'oh yeah that's a problem.' It was awkward, but not really a big deal. Kind of a stupid story but I made a thread anyway.
