First, it's daylight saving time, not daylight savings time.

And I love it. The point of it is, sunrise and sunset are now an hour later, putting the last hour of sunlight later in the day. I think it's great when the sun doesn't go down until 9 oclock in the middle of the summer, and I wouldn't want to set that back to 8 o'clock.

A lot of people seem to think the reasoning behind this is farming and agricultural. That's not true at all. Farmers start their work when the sun comes up regardless of what the clock says. The reason we started it was to save resources during world war two. When you have sunlight in the early morning hours, it does no good because most people are asleep. But when you have sunlight later into the evening, it's just another hour people go before they turn all the lights on thus saving resources.

If I had my way we'd be on daylight saving time year-round and never change the clocks back.

I always heard it as "daylight saving's time". Which, now that I think about it, doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I kind of enjoy it being dark earlier, I guess.

I dread summer in general, I suppose. I really dislike warm weather and associate more light in summer with long, hot days.

Maybe if I had to deal with Australian summers I'd be in your camp.
