alright. i'm bound to leave something out but here goes.
you get a certain number of men to start out with depending on how many people are playing. i don't have anything in front of me for referrence so let's just say every person gets thirty "armies". soldiers count for one, horses for five, and cannons are ten. some people play that you randomly draw who gets what countries to start out with and some people play that you can select your own countries (going in order, rolling to see who selects first). you must have at least one army in each of you countries and then once all have been selected you spread your armies out amongst your territories. the goal is to control everything, so if you have seven territories in north america, it'd be wise to load up up there and short yourself somewhere where you don't have many territories at. if you control all of a continent then on your turn you get a set number of extra armies. (diff territories=diff numbers). brb

So let's say that I have ten armies in South America. Would I want to reinforce there, or "risk" it by reinforcing my two armies in australia, provided I have two there?

alright. also on your turn you count up how many terr. you have and divide by 3, and thats how many extra armies you get to play around with (but the number can never be below 3. if you only have two terr. you still get 3 armies on your turn. if you have 12 you get 4) in order to attack someone, on your turn you must have at least 2 armies in a terr. you can only attack adjacent terr also (in most versions). you must always have 1 army in each of your territories, so if you win while having two in your current terr. you can only move one. when you attack you can roll up to 3 dice, but can only roll as many as you are able to safely move if victorious. if you have 2 armies, you can only roll one die. the defender can roll 1 or 2 dice, his choice. defender always breaks ties when rolling. say chud is trying to take me and he rolls three die and i roll two. he rolls 6 3 and 2. i roll 5 and 3. you match up the numbers going high to low. we each lose 1 since 6>5 but 3 is a tie and def always wins, we each lose 1.
