The Live on 2 Legs version is from Virginia Beach 1998. Very nice
I also wanted to endorse the San Jose version from 11/4/95. Nice to see some other people on here recognize that one because I always thought that was one of the best too.
I really like Mike's guitar at the end.

i was at msg 98 and ottawa...and I thought MSG's black was better. Ottawa's struck me in the crowd participation and its length...Ed was actually into the song, which is something that doesn't truly happen as much as it did in 98. MSG 98 and Hartford 96 had very nice Black performances...but I'd have like to see Melbourne 3.17.95....that's a classic.

I was a sucker for the Berlin 06 performance...but since I went to Arras 2010 that one has a very very special place. Ed has held those high notes at the end before, but these were insanely good and that "so glad you're gone, we didn't belong together" tag in various melody is so beautiful. Then afterwards right before launching into Fixer Ed mumbles:"things don't always stay broken...."
I'm sure it probably isn't the best black performance ever, but the whole experience was mindblowing and really hit the spot for me at that moment in time.

Black 2009/2010 has some great versions, and to me its Matts drumming... hes more aggresive?
07-05-2003 is my fav version which i probably said years ago in this thread? but I just had it on the other day... Mike has a very Sonic Youth vib going on.
