I'm going to have to go with the original studio recording with this one. Either the original or greatest hits re-mix. Best ever! It's the only song I could put on repeat forever and never get sick of. Now that's crazy!

i still don't see how peole can benaroya is a top version? ed mumbles over throughout the whole song, then he gets to the end and just lets the crowd sing it. the last minute or so is really cool, but the version as a whole is not good, IMO. the last minute or so of black is always good.
I'm really into Benaroya right now. The crowd really gets me.
am i the only one that hate the crowd singing the best part of the song?

92 unplugged, though to top that
actually damn near impossible.
Eh, i think that version is a tad over rated, its awesome of course, but eddie messes up the first chorus, and i prefer the post 96 versions with mike wailing out for a few minutes at the end

This is what he messes up, he sings
"how quick the sun can, drop away
and now my bitter hands cradle broken glass"
instead of
"i know she gave me all that she wore"
a repeated part of the second chorus meaning...messed up first chorus.
It's right there on the video , check it out
a small nuance but still takes points off from me, but like i said, my big reason for thinking others are better is the wailing mike solo, something that truly shines when the song is done electrically

I wouldn't consider this messing it up, he simply changed it, like he does with many songs in concert.
Messing up the song- A good example is Wishlist, July 11, 2003

yep
It gives me chills when I listen to that bit
It's my all time favourite song and when you actually see it live and everyone sings it's amazing, so to have a high quality version of it with crowd singing is what makes this version for me.

you can see eddie shaking his head after he sung it, so i would think he messed up, he didnt change the lyrics to something different, he used the same chorus twice instead of once.

Yeah...i would call it messing up to, since one would not normally change the first chorus of song by using different lyrics from the same song
