Not having a tour to look forward sucks. My response to the lack of tours has been using up my holidays and money to go visit great people I met while on tour. And then, of course, the band inevitably goes ahead and announces shit right after my plans to visit said mates. Which gets bloody expensive when they're scattered around the bloody world.
Ok, this only happened the one time since I got bitten by the touring bug, missing the 08 EV/PJ tours. So I'm solving that problem by moving closer to the majority action.
We don't yet know what's getting covered in 09. Talk, talk, talk. So, who would be in to attend at least 5 shows for tours across the various regions? I speak, of course, of
US (West Coast/Rockies) US (The South) US (Northeast/Midwest) Canada Mexico/South America Europe Australasia

you know that the minute you move to Europe they're going to announce an Oz tour right?
US (West Coast/Rockies) I'm defo in, San Diego and Seattle are calling! US (The South) probably, but depending where in the South (I want to visit New Orleans, but no interest in Texas) US (Northeast/Midwest) probably not, depending on funds and other tours. Canada maybe, likely it'll be in combination with US dates so depends which coast, don't think they'll do one like 05 again with just Canada. Mexico/South America oh yes baby! Europe try to stop me! Australasia mmm... again depends, if it's the only place they tour that year, probably, otherwise, probably not. want to go back to NZ though
all of course depending on funds at any given time and my continuous employment in the intervening periods. If I win the lottery, you'll see me at every PJ shows 'till the end of time

Europe sounds good to me US i would do some shows, but it is a lot more expensive now for me damn currency dropping 35% against the US since i was there last tour Australia - as long as i am not on the other side of the world, i will do the whole thing Canada - Yeah baby South America/Mexico - why the hell not!

I'm invincible, fuckface- I just ate a curry I made without looking at a recipe and survived. The cat which has eaten everything else I have ever fed him doesn't seem to want to touch it.

I have a feeling the album won't be complete until mid-summer at the earliest. I'd guess the US and Euro / Australia legs would be split - 1 in fall of 2009 and the other in spring of 2010. I hope to hit about 5 shows next tour.

I'll see multiple shows if there's new music. If its feels like its going to be another run like this past summer, I'll probably only see whichever gig is closest.

All I can say is, as long as they dont tour in the Midwest this time of year ever, ill be happy... Im going to see Neil Young next week in Chicago, and im already dreading the possibility of the unpredictable craptastic winter weather we get around here... It barely even snowed over an inch last night and the roads are still shitty??? youd think we live in North Carolina with their one state plow or something...

I'm jonesing for a tour too!! All I know is, my 5 shows in 2008 wasn't enough... (though previously I'd never done more than one a tour!!)
I was just fantasizing earlier today, before I read this thread, about what other continents I might try to get to next tour. From what I've heard the South American crowds are great...

If they play New Orleans I'm making a 5-day weekend out of it.
