I dig most everything about percussion and drums, so I was particularly intrigued by this show’s lineup. I’ve also wanted to see Matt Cameron perform sans Pearl Jam since being floored by those sick 06’ Gorge and Portland “Evenflow†drum solos. That said Matt and Jason’s set exceeded my expectations. These guys rocked the roof off of the Tractor Tavern with their phenomenal, perfectly in sync playing. This set was more rock than jazz, per se, but the improvisation was such that it seemed as if they knew exactly what the other was thinking; their rhythm was spot on throughout, alternating beats so well you’d think they had been playing together for years. Near the end of their set, Jason traded out his sticks for the guitar while Matt played drums, and vice versa. Although they seemed exhausted when they returned to the stage for their “encoreâ€, they still managed to end the night with a wicked awesome jam.

Thanks for that!! I've heard about Matt talents on more jazzy stuff, glad to finally see and hear that.

Wow. I don't know how he manages to play so smooth at such a fast pace. I wish I had that kind of talent.
Thanks for the link.
