East Troy and Noblesville '03. Two nights in a row with a really hot crowd, nice sets and the band in good form and good spirits. If I had the choice to go back in time and see two back-to-back PJ shows, I might just pick these two.

That is all.

I remember when the 03 tour was just finished, East Troy was a favourite of many people, including myself. Nowadays it’s rarely mentioned anymore.
I think Pearl Jam toured too much since 2003. People have too many shows to listen to and forget about lots of 03 shows, except MSG, Uniondale & Boston.

ET doesn't stick out in my mind like it does others, but I do remember Noblesville being cool.

You can feel the energy through the boot. That 1st encore is crazy.

East Troy has had amazing PJ shows since '98. The performances were better than the setlists. The crowd encores are nuts, I agree. However, they're STILL not as close to Boston and NYC shows.

I don't remember the Noblesville show standing out to me, but Alpine 03 is a great boot.

That's a really awesome place to see a show, though. Lots of bands put on great performances there.

Also underrated or at least not talked about much: Kitchener '05 and Albany '06.

I don't think ET and Noblesville are underrated -- at least, they weren't back in 2003.

East Troy is easily one of the best shows of 03. As for Nobelsville, can't say that I ever listened to it....

PD,
If you could describe this moment, I would appreciate it.

It sounds crazy, and then funny, on the boot. Ed obviously laughs at the end, but the notes on this show gives me the idea that initially there was concern about what this guy was going to do.

Well, Ed's singing, and they get to the guitar solo, and he just puts his head down, holding the mic stand in one hand, probably with his eyes closed and groovin to the music, and then this VERY large guy comes running across the stage. Ed is a little guy, but this guy had to be 6'3" and 250 pounds easy. Running straight towards Ed. When Ed saw him, which was by the time had gotten within a few feet of him, he noticably jumped. Then he realized the guy was no threat and was just a drunk idiot who wanted to give Ed a hug and say hello into the mic. So Ed let him stay up on stage for about 30 seconds before he left voluntarily and was wisked away by security. Oh yeah, Ed danced with him too.

Thanks. I guess if they guy was that big, he could have looked like Kerry Wood. :)
