I just tried returning mine. I was told: no transfers, no refunds. Just for the Poland show. I guess a lotta people changed their minds about going and the 10 club have a surplus of tickets and no waiting list for this show...

strange because there's still people on the board looking for 10c tickets..so they could do a transfer..

I guess people changed their mind because they don't want to have to spend 6 hours in the elements waiting for PJ to come on.. half of that listening to crap bands..

I've met the poles last year..I know it'll be worth it :D

I just got the tix kinda in the excitement as there was no warning they'd be up. I'm going to Munich, London and Denmark, so that'll be 39 shows since 1995 for me. I'm dumping Poland to go on the piss in Paris with a mate. He ain't been to Paris before, so I can take him to see the sights and go mad at night.
I've already got a busy summer: PJ x3, REM in Dublin, Ozzy Osbourne in Dublin, Iron Maiden in Germany, Velvet Revolver in Lisbon, Chris Cornell in London (Astoria), and Jeff Martin (Ex-Tea Party) in Dundalk (Ireland). Throw in trips to Nice and Paris, and it's gonna be busy.
My two least fave PJ shows I went to last year (out of 13) were the two outdoor ones (Verona and Pistoia), so I'm not excited about Poland at all.
I think 13 gigs last year burned me out a bit, too.
I don't mind eatin' the Poland tix, coz they were dirt cheap anyway.

Randall

Hey Randall. Chris from the Magic Bus here...

Were those really your two worst shows last year?? Pistoia is one of my favourite boots! Verona is OK, but just the beauty of the venue makes me wish I was there....!

Yup, my two least favourite shows from last year. It's probably just me, but I feel like with outdoor gigs, the energy kinda dissipates into the sky, and I feel like that energy is contained when a gig's indoors. I don't go to festivals for that reason. It's also the reason I'm only doing Munich/London/Denmark this year. It's why Ive decided to skip Poland. I think all the other gigs except Dusseldorf are outdoors. I just don't enjoy 'em as much, so I ain't going. I would have done a lot more PJ shows in Europe this year if they were indoors. Just my personal preference. Even with the shit seats I had for Melbourne 1 in 1998 (indoors), and the great spot up front I had in Adelaide 1998 (outdoors), I still enjoyed Melbourne better.

As far as Pistoia goes: gorgeous little town square, gorgeous town. I always wanted a long PJ show (30 tunes +), and with Pistoia, I got one. Unfortuanately, I also learned you can have too much of a good thing. I think the perfect PJ setlist length is 25-28 songs.

Verona: beautiful venue, beautiful town. Average gig. The craic the night before the gig was great though.

The last two times I've seen Release live it's pissed down with rain (Kansas 2003, Verona 2006). Bit strange...

hey Randall! just realised it was you. we were all (Pin, Rob, Babs, Carlos...) wandering where you were coming ..got the answer now :)
excellent if you're at the cornell show too.

I'd agree with Verona and Pistoia not being so good but I think it had more to do with the setlists or crowds than the fact it was outdoor..Berlin was fine.
and Reading was awesome...I'm sure Lisbon will be too.

see you soon.
