welcome to the board
I'd hope that they'd bust out some rareties and the ed solo stuff is a good call
congrats on your tickets. have a blast!

Obviously we're all hoping for a rarities show. but then London, being nearly 10c show, we also expected more rarities (it was great don't get me wrong..but not that 'out of this world').
yeah, think Ed new stuff is a good call. And I still think that the 'Impro' in Katowice wasn't one but an embryonic song..maybe be more of that..
Hopefully some acoustic stuff too..
and yes, normally, unlike some people here, I don't mind the Message Pit, just ignoring the idiotic/out of topic threads...but right now all the begging (and soliciting scalping, which is in clear against the rules) is getting on my nerves! think I'll stay away (at least of the Porch, GTF is always fine..we Europeans have had a stronger presence there in the last 2 years ) until I come back from Chicago..
I just want to hear No More done live, that would be awesome. anything else is gravy.
maybe they'll play pilate or smile
i've had remarkable luck at the two shows i've been to, i've heard SOLAT and I got Id twice, i'm open once. i just dont want a two hour show comprised of them playing Rearviewmirror (the album)
not that i'd complain, frankly i'd go see them if they were just going to play one note for two hours.

I could do without No More this time.. Smile is more likely at Lolla.. last show..
I do hope for some rarities, but I don't care: It's PJ, they play, I'm happy.. and they play in a small room where I'll be even closer than usual, throwing me back to my first gig at the Astoria last year, even better

i think we will get a bunch of rare / semi-rare stuff. i'm not talking like opening with aye davanita into bugs into sweet lew, but stuff along the lines of parting ways, rats, maybe dirty frank, stuff like that. but with that said, i think the setlist will be really, really long and will probably be juicy as hell.
and ben harper will be there for sure.

the need for rarities is becoming annoying. id rather hear given to fly than undone
i agree with the first part, although the second i only slightly agree with; but that's cause i love undone, not cause it's rare(it probably makes my top 10 pj songs). still i'd rather hear gtf because that seems like it would be better live, from every boot i've heard of either song. but i've been to a total of one show, so i can understand why someone who goes to many would want to see more variety, but i also couldn't fathom following PJ around on tour like some people seem to.

The band will not have played live in over a month by the time they get to the Vic and they are slated to perform to a huge crowd later in the weekend (30,000? 50,000?) The purpose of the Vic show is clearly to warm up and make sure they aren't too rusty from the time off. Accordingly, I would expect to see a lot of standards instead of rarities.
I realize this is a "fan club show" but I still don't think there will be too many surprises.

Hinny, tell him!
ok I will: it's not just about the show (though the variety of setlists and crowds makes each show unique), it's about the people you meet and the friends you make! I wouldn't be going all the way to Vic and Lolla if I was on my own. I'm going because I'll be able to see Lori and Mike and Liam and Oscar and Helen and Emily and Carlos and Brian and Amy and Steph again (and Babs and Tracey..though I can see them in London.. but I don't necessarily, and next to them at a PJ show is better!)...
that's why my Euro flag will read: 'thanks 4 the gigs and all the friends'
