I've got the newer Samsung Helix that can record, but I think I might just hook up and take the live stream into Adobe Audition or Sony SoundForge... bypass the MP3 recording compression that way, maybe a bit better quality? Not exactly sure since you can't directly download the recorded MP3 files.

Ethel (XM Channel 47) is available for free through AOL Radio on AIM. I'm listening to it now. You can also access AOL Radio for free through the latest releases of Winamp.

I know someone will have the PJ set recorded / able to download but hopefully one of you who wont be there, will get Kings of Leon and MMJ, for those of us who will be there... watching those 2 bands on the stage before PJ

They had a schedule last year of what they were doing, but nothing so far this year, just a list of artists, with no PJ. I don't think they broadcast RHCP last. Here's the list:
Amy Winehouse Interpol LCD Soundsystem Blue October Jack's Mannequin Satellite Party G. Love and Special Sauce The Black Keys M.I.A. Motion City Soundtrack Pete Yorn Lupe Fiasco Kings of Leon Paolo Nutini Ben Harper And many more!

A real XM radio is NOTHING like the demo... Mine truly kicks ass!
XM has been airing their segments taped so far, and some have been edited, maybe for length or the fact that they cut out major tech problems, can't figure it out yet. Their broadcast quality is pretty good, soundboard feed has very little crowd mix and seems a bit stale to me personally.
As I mentioned earlier, my laptop hard drive crapped out on me yesterday. New one should arrive late today, however I probably will NOT be able to record directly to my laptop... I doubt I can get everything installed and ready to go before tomorrow. I have the recording scheduled on my XM right now (I'll get it no matter what) and I'll be working to setup my wife's laptop to record the audio out stream, but no guarantees yet... all depends on what time my new hard drive gets here.
Ben Harper (with guest appearances by members of PJ, according to XM and some threads on RM) will start the broadcast today. I will be snagging this by recording onto my Helix only. Sorry, can't bypass any of the recording compression that my XM might do to this one. (By the way, I don't think the compression is all THAT bad, it is a satellite feed anyway, which is basically an MP3 flavor to begin with and I think it really just captures this stream natively, not positive though. I have not tested it out yet with a live stream vs. recorded programming, was planning on doing it today, but that went out the window.)
Worth noting - I am not totally sure if XM has been editing for time/content or to cover technical problems yet. Some of them yesterday were chopped up in weird places, other were faded out after majorly extended jams and then faded back in (again, maybe a tech problem?). The few segments that at least appeared to be live sounded fine, no satellite "delay" (someone mentioned this in another forum) or issues like that, so I'm expecting PJ (which should truly be "LIVE") to sound fine.
(PS - If someone is taping at the site live, PM me - I'd like to get a copy of your recording and do a good stereo mix of the soundboard feed and audience recording in either Audition or ProTools.)

Is anyone else who's attempting to listen to the online XM Radio having troubles? I'm listening to Ethel online right now, a while after the broadcast was supposed to start, and all I can hear is the standard Ethel playlist. Anyone else having this problem?

Do you have to be an actual XM Subscriber to get this feed? I have XM through DirecTV and I', getting regular Ethel programming and no Lolla. I set up a trial subscription and I'm listening now but still nothing. Anybody else having any luck? It's after 3:30PM ET and nothing.
